Food prices

Food import demand continues to rise in recent months. Even the food exporters can not meet the demanding world of buyers. For example, the Thailand rice exporters claimed that the demand was doubled compared to 1 year.

Some people say that is because China restricts the export of food, as a result of domestic consumption. Quality of life for the Chinese population was much better. Local food production is mainly used to meet internal demand. Can a factor. However, weather is another important factor in the food supply. A heat wave with experience from around the world last summer has battered harvests, driving the price of sugar, wheat, fruit, orange juice, while freak rain storm in Vietnam have been the cause of coffee prices hit seven year high.

With the rising prices in all areas of your business - from wage costs, fuel costs for lighting, heating and rates for your business - it is no surprise that supermarkets try to pass on rising costs of food to its customers.
